“IRGC is the biggest and most successful anti-terrorist entity.”
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has a record of sponsoring terrorism abroad and brutal repression at home. -
“Hamid Nouri, a former Iranian judiciary official who has been illegally incarcerated in Sweden … said his trial has not been fair."
Nouri was legitimately tried and found guilty in Sweden under universal jurisdiction. -
“We are sorry that this magazine is published in a country which claim[s] to be respecting the values and supporting the rights of others, but it fails to stand by the most obvious principles and bases that govern the international law.”
Freedom of expression is a universal human right, not a violation of international law. -
“Their first excuse for choosing Afghanistan for the invasion was the existence of terrorism and al-Qaida while the group came to Afghanistan after the 9/11 attacks.”
Iran’s attempts at historical revisionism bear no relation to the realities of al-Qaida and Islamic State operations in Afghanistan. -
“#Iranian footballer will be executed for supporting women#? Rumors! … The crime Nasir-Azadani committed was murder.”
Amir Nasr-Azadani has not been convicted or sentenced. Human Rights Watch called Iran’s use of the death penalty a “travesty of justice.” -
“… Iran has the most transparent peaceful nuclear program compared to the number of IAEA-supervised facilities in the world and has enjoyed the most inspections and verifications.”
Iran is upgrading nuclear enrichment while dodging questions from the International Atomic Energy Agency. -
“Americans, together with their British collaborators, are putting their frantic efforts into strengthening the positions and the destructive potential of the Afghan offshoot of Daesh (Islamic State)…”
In fact, the U.S. has worked to eliminate Islamic State, killing its leaders, and has suffered attacks in return. -
“Russian [drone] equipment is being used, you know about it, with Russian designations.”
Debris and other evidence show that Russia is attacking Ukraine with Iranian kamikaze drones. -
“The Islamic Republic of Iran considers reports about delivering drones to Russia for use in the Ukraine war ‘baseless’ and does not confirm them.”
Despite Tehran’s denials, Kyiv has records showing Iranian-made drones are being deployed by Russia in Ukraine. -
“[T]he Iran police publish[ed] a videoclip show[ing] that her [Mahsa Amini’s] death was due to a heart attack, proving the false news broadcasted [sic] by the Western media and the anti-Iranian press.”
Much remains unknown about Mahsa Amini’s death, but video of her collapse at a detention center doesn’t prove she had a heart attack. -
“We seriously and definitively deny the connection between Salman Rushdie's assailant and the Islamic Republic.”
Iran denies any connection to the attack against author Salman Rushdie, but Tehran revived the fatwa targeting him in 2005. -
“If the way is opened for NATO, it will recognize no limits. If it hadn’t been stopped in #Ukraine, it would have later started a similar war in #Crimea.”
Khamenei ignores Russia’s military seizure of Crimea in 2014. Russia faced no threat from NATO or Ukraine when it invaded in February.
